Probably the bottom line is beginning and practicing yoga will, from a physical aspect, help tone and stave off the dreaded creep of cellulite as well as balance your diet which will help. From a mental & emotional perspective, it'll help you deal with "what is." IMO, just taking up yoga to singularly to cure cellulite is going to add to your frustration. |

You're asking about fat?
As you undoubtedly know, "cellulite" can be present for a variety of reasons; one's age, genes, percentage of body fat, and nature of skin. You must also know that there are no instant fixes.
One can, of course, effort to reduce their percentage of body fat, assuming such a reduction would not be unhealthy for their body in the bigger picture. I don't know your percentage of body weight and every body has a different optimum weight - despite what the AMA might like you to believe.
Yoga postures, to me, are not, in and of themselves, a weight loss system. People do get confused about losing weight and a weight loss system. One can lose (or gain) weight using Yoga but it is not a system for such a thing.
While I do advocate Yoga for those looking to improve their living, if one's goal is merely to lose weight with the intent of reducing cellulite then I think functional strength training combined with increases in activity and a meticulous diet is the most effective protocol.

| Wow, thanks guys for your responses, it has definitely opened my mind. I had other ideas in my head and I am now enlightened and will tackling this "issue" in the most diplomatic way possible. I will also keep you posted on what I am doing and how it is helping.
Gordon a special thanks to you for taking time and making it so simplistic for me
Many thanks
